International Photo Festival Knokke-Heist 2008
Knokke-Heist, March 15, 2008
The International Photofestival Knokke-Heist 2008 was officially opened yesterday. Together with my photofriends Carla Broekhuizen and Rutger Burger I went to the opening of the exhibition of the photos of the selection and winners of the International PHOTO COMPETITION. This year, the Festival received almost 4 000 photos, of which 200 were selected. Carla and Rutger were among the selected. Also selected the photos of some of my Belgium photofriends, Luc Rabay, Patrick Bardyn and Dieter Van Betsbrugge.
On this photo: Rutgers selected photo - left, the boy with the drumsticks, and a visitor.
Street portrait - 4
This old lady was sitting on the steps of the St. Peters Square. Just watching the tourists, contemplating. I asked her if I could make her portrait. She graciously agreed and liked the result.
I tried to make a black and white conversion. I didn't like the result. The portrait somehow loses its frailty. So I left it as it is.

Serendipity - 2
De Haan, August 8, 2006
Serendipity - the ability to discover things of value by hazard - ... a fragile, fleeting phenomenon that can be made resonate through photography.... things that can be anything you see in it. You can also call it a childish delight, fun, joy, amazament - whatever. I love discovering these little details.
