Back in Berlin: seeing a refurbished Tacheles
Art house Tacheles - once a department store, badly damaged
during the war and then left to rot. There were plans to demolish
the huge building, but artists took occupied the building and turned
it into a lively art scene.
When the building was sold to property developers the artists
moved out and it was "refurbished" into a museum for photography. The
the frame of the building remained as it was.
